What counts as 'loot'

On DealDie, loot means free digital items for a game rather than the game itself: cosmetic skins, weapon or vehicle packs, boosters, in-game currency, or bonus DLC. Publishers give them away to promote a new season, reward a community, or partner with a sponsor.

The three delivery methods

Almost every loot giveaway uses one of these:

  • Unique code: you receive a one-time code that you redeem in the game, the launcher, or the publisher's website
  • Account linking: you connect your game account to another service, and the item is delivered automatically
  • Direct claim: you press a button on the publisher's own page while signed in, and the item is added

Why codes run out

Unique-code giveaways usually have a fixed number of keys. When they are gone, the offer ends, even if the official end date has not passed. That is why the claimed percentage and claim counts are useful signals: an offer that many people have already claimed may be close to running dry.

Account-linked and direct-claim offers tend to be unlimited but strictly time-boxed, so the end date is the number to watch.

How to redeem a code

Follow the instructions on the official giveaway page exactly. The redemption location varies by game: some use a redeem screen inside the game's store menu, others use the platform's own redeem option, and some use a page on the publisher's site. If a code is for a console version, redeem it on that console's store, not on PC.

Copy codes rather than typing them, since characters such as O and 0 or I and 1 are easy to confuse. If a code says it was already used, it may have been claimed by someone else before you redeemed it; there is no fix other than trying another offer.

Region and account limits

Most loot offers allow one claim per account, and some are only valid in certain regions. Creating extra accounts to claim the same offer several times usually breaks the giveaway's terms and can get accounts flagged. It is not worth the risk to your main account.

Is free loot worth it?

Cosmetics do not change gameplay, but they are a nice bonus for games you already play, and some packs include useful boosters for new players. Our advice is simple: claim loot for games you actually play, skip the rest, and never trade account security for a skin.
